ABOUT GMC
Greg Minnaar Cycles has its roots in the late 1970s when it first opened as "Two Wheel Inn." In 1992, Jackie and Jeff Minnaar took over the shop and, in 2005, renamed it "Greg Minnaar Racing Cycle Store" to honor their son Greg Minnaar's remarkable achievement of winning his second World Cup series championship that year.
Greg Minnaar's dedication and success in the cycling world have been a source of inspiration. He is currently a three-time downhill World Champion and has remained a consistent force in the World Cup series throughout his illustrious career.
Jackie and Jeff have fostered a strong relationship with the vibrant cycling community of Pietermaritzburg, offering exceptional service and expertise. In 2013, they expanded their vision by rebranding the store as "Greg Minnaar Cycles" and opening a second branch on Townbush Road, located on the city’s outskirts.
In 2017, Greg Minnaar Cycles closed their original Boom Street store and made the Townbush Road branch their primary location.
